Candle Care

To get the most magic from your Flicker & Fable candle, follow these simple steps:

1. First Burn = Most Important
   Let the wax melt all the way to the edges on your first burn (usually 2–3 hours). This helps prevent tunnelling and gives you an even burn every time. (If the melt pool doesn't hit the edges in the first burn, don't stress! It will hit the edge in the next few burns.)
2. Trim Your Wick
   Before each burn, trim your wick to around 5mm. This keeps the flame steady, reduces smoke, and helps your candle last longer.
3. Burn Time Matters
   Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This keeps the wax from overheating and helps your scent throw stay strong and true.
4. Burn Safely
   Always place your candle on a heatproof surface, away from drafts, pets, books (we know…), and anything flammable. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Ensure the candle is properly extinguished before walking away.
5. Allow to cool
   Always let the candle cool completely before relighting. Clean away any debris or wick trimmings from the wax before relighting. Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat when not in use. Place the lid on the jar between uses.
6. Reuse or Recycle
   Discontinue use when 1.5cm of wax remains. When your candle is done, don’t toss the jar! Clean it out and reuse it for pens, makeup brushes, or little bookish trinkets.
